Us Army National Guard Units is Hiring a SUPERVISORY AUDITOR (TITLE 5) Near Nashville, TN

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY AUDITOR, GS-0511-13, you will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing daily and long-term operations. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Select or recommend selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. Develop programs and makes assignments by establishing priorities in conjunction with the Adjutant General and USPFO. Performs liaison functions with internal/external agencies, and private organizations, e.g., Army Audit Agency, Government Accounting Office, Air Force Auditing, State Legislative Audit, Congressional Staff, and contractors to schedule audits and coordinate responses. Perform analyses, surveys, and studies as a "troubleshooter" in critical areas involving problems of exceptional complexity and having significant operational or financial management impact, identify the source of troubles or difficulties, and solve, eliminate, correct, or overcomes them. Experience in managing the function of work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Perform other duties as required.

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

  • Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Selectee must meet the requirements of the DoD FM Certification Program. The FM Certification Program is a course-based program consisting of three certification levels. Level (X) certification must be completed within two years of start date.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements must have experience performing work consisting of a systematic examination and appraisal of financial records, financial and management reports. Experience which includes audit responsibility for both Army and Air programs statewide.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 36 months specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience serving as lead or senior auditor on an audit team; experience performing a variety of difficult, complex audit assignments. Experience identifying and preparing comprehensive risk assessments, developing/modifying audit programs and plans, aligning audit steps with risk assessment. Experience meeting auditee to explain audit purpose, obtain necessary information and discuss audit findings. Experience with detailed testing and examining accounting systems and records, cost representations, internal controls, management policies and practices, to assure compliance with accounting and auditing principles, standards and regulations, Experience making initial audit determinations which identify deficiencies or noncompliance. Experience preparing reports of audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

Education

Education Requirement:

Degree: Accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included - or - was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to six hours of credit in business law. NOTE: The term "accounting" means "accounting or auditing" in this Series. Similarly, "accountant" is interpreted as "accountant or auditor."
